Vicky Verst
High School Science and Middle School Math Teacher
Vicky is married to her high school sweetheart and is the mother of six. She grew up in Kentucky, with a deep love for horses, reading, nature, travel, and science. Eager to expand her knowledge, she enthusiastically participated in every science class offered at her rural public high school and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy.
For five years, she worked as a physical therapist at a large hospital in Cincinnati, where her dedication and skills led to a promotion as a clinical coordinator. In this role, she took pleasure in overseeing the education of physical therapy interns and guiding them toward successful careers.
Following the birth of her first child, Vicky embraced the calling of motherhood full-time. Through faith and personal experience, she developed a growing interest in homeschooling. Her homeschooling journey began in Idaho when her eldest child turned six, and she continued to educate her children at home for the next 20 years. During this time, she actively participated in Idaho state conventions and served as the clinical coordinator for Blaine County state testing for six years.
Presently, Vicky is thrilled to witness God orchestrating the various aspects of her life, leading her to Sun Valley Eagle Christian Academy. Her presence in the classroom brings a unique perspective, intertwining her scientific knowledge with her passion for learning. She firmly believes that studying science necessitates the recognition of God as the creator and sustainer of the universe and everything within it.

June Patty
High School Literature and History Teacher
June has been blessed by the many years of teaching God has given her. Her teaching career began in Houston, Texas after graduating from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Education and an English minor in 1972. She met and married the man of her dreams, Alan Patty, in her first year of teaching. He is her biggest supporter!
Over the years, God has opened doors to a variety of teaching experiences in elementary, middle school, and high school grades, including public and private schools, homeschooling her 3 children, working with homeschool families in South Korea, teaching in a University Model School in Texas and teaching in children’s villages in Africa.
She retired in May of 2020 when she and her husband moved to Sun Valley, Idaho. Then God opened the door for an opportunity to teach high school Writing and History at Sun Valley Eagle Christian Academy for the 2023-2024 year. She is very excited about returning this year to teach Literature and History to high schoolers. God is doing a great work here in the valley, and she is so grateful He chose her to be a part of it.

Heidi Michael
Middle School Teacher Grades 6th-8th
Heidi grew up as a Pastor’s kid with seven siblings. She came to know the Lord at a young age and her faith is the most important thing to her, followed by her relationship with her incredible husband of just a year and a half! Heidi has been working with children of a variety of ages for almost a decade. Her experience includes working with 4th-6th grade students in Chicago, 5th grade students at Cherry Hills Christian School, and teaching preschool children at the Ohana School of Early Learning. Some of her most memorable experiences included teaching the Bible to Rwandan children in Africa, and, most recently, teaching 4th grade for two years at Ambleside Colorado, a Charlotte Mason school in the suburbs of Denver. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Children and Family Ministry from Moody Bible Institute and is also certified as a teacher of English as a foreign language. Since she has been exposed to several different methods of teaching, Heidi has no doubt in her mind that classical education is invaluable to the growth and development of young children.
